{"id":208,"date":"2003-12-12T03:07:00","date_gmt":"2003-12-12T02:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/custom-deluxe.com\/2003\/12\/hawks_4_wings_3_final-ot.html"},"modified":"2003-12-12T03:07:00","modified_gmt":"2003-12-12T02:07:00","slug":"hawks_4_wings_3_final-ot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/custom-deluxe.com\/index.php\/2003\/12\/12\/hawks_4_wings_3_final-ot\/","title":{"rendered":"hawks 4, wings 3 (final-OT)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I would not be at all surprised to hear that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.curtisjoseph.com\" title=\"CuJo\" target=\"_blank\">CuJo<\/a> underwent electroshock therapy between <a href=\"http:\/\/nhl.com\/onthefly\/scoreboard\/recaps\/414_2_recap.html\" title=\"7-2, wings\" target=\"_blank\">last night&#8217;s game against the Sabres<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.detroitredwings.com\/detail\/detail.asp?id=%7BD3EF7B51%2DAE24%2D435C%2DBEF4%2DBF24BB3244BE%7D\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"4-3, blackhawks\">tonight&#8217;s mess<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I understand that standings aren&#8217;t everything, and that furthermore you can&#8217;t expect the top team in the division to beat the team in last place just because of their rankings, but I&#8217;ve got to be a little concerned when my team can pull out a <a href=\"http:\/\/nhl.com\/onthefly\/scoreboard\/recaps\/366_2_recap.html\" title=\"serves 'em right, Disney doesn't deserve a hockey team\" target=\"_blank\">7-2 victory against Anaheim<\/a> and only barely eke out a <a href=\"http:\/\/nhl.com\/onthefly\/scoreboard\/recaps\/375_2_recap.html\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"what were you thinking, boys?\">tie against the Blues<\/a> the following night; and then the very next week follow a 7-2 win against the Sabres with a really quite pathetic 4-3 performance in Chicago.  Especially when I haul my cookies all the way down to the United &#8220;Detroit Sucks!&#8221; Center.  Granted, I know we&#8217;ve got lots of injured players; I know we&#8217;re missing Hasek and Yzerman et al.  But still, can&#8217;t we play like the equal of our opponents when we&#8217;re actually favored to win?  Please?  Pretty, pretty please?<\/p>\n<p>And while I&#8217;m at it, what in the name of all that&#8217;s holy is up with sending underage girls in skintight outfits with snow shovels out to &#8220;clear the ice&#8221; at every ESPN commercial break?
